This January, we invite you to journey with us into the volcanic highlands of Guatemala for five days and four nights of ancestral ceremony, prayer, sacred song, embodiment, and communion with the Earth.

I’X · IQ’ — The Jaguar & The Hummingbird is a sacred gathering bringing together two living Indigenous traditions: the K’iche’ Maya of Guatemala and the Shipibo-Konibo of the Peruvian Amazon.

Together with Indigenous spiritual guides and traditional plant medicine practitioners, we will explore the wisdom of these ancestral paths, honoring the people, lands, and lineages that continue to carry them.

In the Maya sacred calendar, I’x carries associations with the Jaguar, the Earth, and sacred altars.

Iq’ represents the Wind, the Breath of Life, and the invisible movement of Spirit.

The Jaguar invites us to walk with courage, to meet the unseen, and to return to the wisdom of our bodies and the Earth.

The Hummingbird invites us to remember the lightness of our spirit, the freedom of our expression, and the beauty of living with an open heart.

One teaches us to root.
The other reminds us to fly.

Together, they invite us into a deeper relationship with the sacredness of being fully human.

🌿 AN OPTIONAL JOURNEY DEEPER: THE MASTER PLANT DIETA

January 18–25, 2027

For those who feel called to continue beyond the retreat, we offer an intimate seven-day Shipibo Master Plant Dieta guided by Maestra Juanita and Maestro Darwin.

Within the Shipibo tradition, dieta is a sacred discipline of learning directly from the plants through simplicity, prayer, rest, and dedicated relationship.

Possible plant teachers include Noya Rao and Bobinsana, with individual guidance from the maestros.

This extension is an opportunity to step away from the distractions of everyday life and devote yourself to a deeper period of listening, study, and spiritual reflection.
